DeMerit a Question Mark for Saturday's Tilt Against Sporting KC

Whitecaps Captain Jay DeMerit is expected to miss Saturday’s match against Sporting KC after pulling his groin while playing for the US National team.

DeMerit left Tuesday night’s friendly against Paraguay in the 42nd minute after taking a “knock”. US lost 1-0.

The ‘Caps Captain later tweeted “Disappointed to come off. Groin isn’t too serious but too early to tell how long. As Arnie would say, ILL BE BACK!”

DeMerit flies back to Vancouver today before getting checked out by the Whitecaps staff, who will determine his fitness and injury before deciding whether he can play on Saturday.

Whitecaps play host to Sporting KC Saturday at 4pm; Team 1410 has the call with the pre-match show at 2pm.
