Apparently just a rumour, but usually where there's smoke there's fire, there's some buzz right now that potential top pick Darlington Nagbe doesn't want to play in Vancouver.
Where have we seen this before? (sadly can't find the terrific video).
This could certainly throw a wrench in the Whitecaps plans. Nagbe's a talented striker who could be an impact player for years in MLS. Or, he could turn out like "Stevie Franchise."
Whitecaps FC Director of Soccer Operations Tom Soehn told us on Sunday that there are "three or four guys who stand out."
Do the Whitecaps go safe and take Omar Salgado (a player who they know fairly well) or Perry Kitchen (who likes the idea of Vancouver)? Or do they take a (potential) risk and select Nagbe?
We'll find out shortly.
Full-Time Note: Producers for Full-Time have been actively trying to reach Nagbe throughout the weekend, but was told he is currently out of the country and not available for interviews. Could this explain the difficulty in tracking him down?
