Kara Lang, Canadian International, had to retire earlier in the week due to persistant knee problems due to injuries throughout her playing career for both the club and country. Still only 24 years old, Lang is a two-time FIFA World Cup player, an Olympian and a CONCACAF champion. She is also a W-League champion with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and a Canada Games gold medalist with Ontario.
Her 92 career appearances rank 8th all time on the women’s national team. In both 2003 and 2010, she helped Canada set national records with 13 wins on the year. The highlight of that 2003 season was a fourth-place finish at the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003.
Full-Time: Vancouver's Soccer Show host Mike Martignago caught up with Kara on Sunday's show to chat about her retirement from soccer. You can hear the interview by clicking here.
